Quilting
All my life I
have searched for the perfect craft. I have tried all of the hottest
fads - macrame, quilling, scrapbooking, candlemaking - to name just a
few. I thought I had found myself in basketmaking, papermaking and
dollmaking when I settled on each of those for a year or more. But even
they eventually lost my interest. The one thing I knew I loved
was fabric! I used shiny bits of fabric in my paper and wove beautiful
pieces into my baskets and collected lots more for my dolls. So when I
started quilting, I had a stash worthy of a veteran quilter.
Quilting has been the art and craft I have looked for my whole
life. I get to use all my fabrics and even get to buy more! Since my
favorite style of quilting is a scrappy look, I am justified in having
many different fabrics in all colors on hand at all times. And not only
do I get to use my fabrics, but there are so many patterns and styles of
quilts that it's almost like starting a new hobby all the time.
Quilting has become my passion and luckily my husband Robin is
completely supportive of any hobby that requires lots of tools.
Cats
Robin and I
never meant to have a herd of cats. But somehow all the strays in the
neighborhood began to come to our house and have kittens under our
porch. Although we have found homes for 20 of these guys, we currently
have six of our own who we either fell in love with or felt needed a
home they wouldn't get anywhere else. You will see their pictures
throughout the website because we believe they are adorable. Rest
assured, however, that they never go near the products we sell.
Those are kept in a cat-free zone! The closed door to the room that
contains Stray Cats Quilting is one of the saddest parts of our cats'
lives.
